About the exhibition

Vision 2020 is an upcoming travelling exhibition of forty 50x50cm textile works interpreting the theme of vision on tour in 2020/2021.

Vision 2020 is the fourth touring exhibition by Brenda Gael Smith as an independent curator. She has a proven track record in delivering high quality, engaging exhibits that have been exhibited in regional galleries across Australia and textile events internationally. See:

As with the curator's previous exhibitions, each work will be a uniform size creating an cohesive display and showcasing a diverse range of techniques and materials.

A call for entries was issued in May 2019 and entries close on 10 January 2020. Entry is open to all textile artists. International entries have already been received from awarding winning artists in the United States and Europe and more are expected. Images and artwork details will be provided following selection in mid January 2020.

The exhibition is currently available in the following periods:

  • 1 March - 7 April 2020;
  • 22 April - 1 July 2020; and
  • 1 February – 31 July 2021.

Approximately 14 metres (double row) or 28 metres (single row) of linear space is optimal for the exhibit (including signage). Other layouts are possible.
