About the exhibition

New York Rambling is a large-scale drawing project which came out of a desire to cultivate an intimate experience and spark escapism.

Not everybody has the opportunity to visit a gallery or travel to big cities so the concept for New York Rambling came out of a desire to produce an inclusive artwork, that anyone, regardless of background can participate in and appreciate in their own way. It’s a chance for the viewer to escape the day-to-day and project themselves into the iconic city of New York – to get lost in its layers and feel safe in its storied architectural features.

New York Rambling is a project which aims to provide escapism, an experience of a place created for an inclusive audience. It stems from the idea of creating art which gives an opportunity for all people to appreciate it, regardless of any previous art experience, through the idea of familiarity of the place, i.e. New York City.

New York Rambling wraps around the gallery walls and offers its viewers an authentic New York experience. This exhibition is interchangeable for the gallery space. Additional drawing panels can be added to fill a larger space if required, or the 6 individual drawing panels can be hung individually to offer viewers a more traditional exhibition experience. Install of this project requires two people and includes an easy step-by-step guide. Artist available for install, if required and available for workshops (all ages), artists talks and exhibition walkthrough.
