About the exhibition
New Zealand has asked itself the question. Is it Australia’s turn next.
The question, 'should we change our flag'?. This exhibition does not try to answer this question for the viewer, instead it asks the viewer 'Why'. Why do you believe we should change the flag, both yes and no. The artworks prompt the viewer to look at this debate from different points of view. Australia Votes is an exhibition that takes the viewer on a journey that explores the debate from both sides and from different points of view.
What category does this art fall into – Protest, political or contemporary? Because it asks questions of the viewer with no right or wrong answers. It’s all about the journey though the exhibition and the debate. The subject matter is current and of our time.
